From Kazakhstan to the Global Stage: Alain Khoueiry’s Role in the F1H2O Chapter

Kazakhstan is preparing to enter a new chapter in international water sports with the planned arrival of the UIM F1H2O World Championship in 2027. The development is expected to bring a major international sporting event to Kapchagay in the Almaty Region and create a new platform for Kazakhstan on the global sporting calendar.

The planned race, expected to take place in August 2027, is being developed through cooperation involving H2O Racing, IPROMEDIA, iHolding Group, and the Almaty Region Government. Alain Khoueiry, Chairman of iHolding Group, is part of this initiative as the country prepares for its first F1H2O World Championship round.

The event represents more than a sporting competition. International motorsport events can create opportunities for tourism, hospitality, local businesses, media engagement, and international exposure. For a destination such as Kapchagay, hosting an event of this scale can also contribute to greater recognition among international audiences.

The planned Kazakhstan round follows the growing presence of F1H2O in Central Asia. The region has already hosted a championship event in Kyrgyzstan, while Kazakhstan is now preparing to welcome its own round.

For Khoueiry, the initiative adds a new dimension to his professional involvement in Kazakhstan. His work through iHolding has covered investment and development, while his international activities have included business, cultural, sports, and youth initiatives. The F1H2O project brings these areas into a setting where sport and economic activity can intersect.

Major sporting events often leave an impact beyond the competition itself. They can encourage visitors to explore a destination, create opportunities for local service providers, and introduce new audiences to a region.

The planned 2027 F1H2O race therefore represents an important moment for Kazakhstan’s sporting and tourism landscape. With international teams and audiences expected to turn their attention toward Kapchagay, the event could become another notable chapter in the country’s growing participation in global sporting events.
