Hargreaves Lansdown Appoints Matt Benchener as New Chief Executive Officer

Hargreaves Lansdown is a company in the United Kingdom that helps people invest their money. They just announced that Matt Benchener is going to be the Chief Executive Officer of Hargreaves Lansdown. This is a change for Hargreaves Lansdown, which is based in Bristol. Matt Benchener will start being the Chief Executive Officer of Hargreaves Lansdown in July 2026. He is also the head of Vanguard Personal Investor. This is the part of Vanguard that helps people in the United States invest their money. It manages a lot of money. Trillion dollars. It also helps a lot of people. Millions of clients. Benchener worked at Vanguard for 17 years. During this time he helped make the retail platform bigger. He was, in charge of technology and digital projects. He also helped expand the advice business. People recognized him for doing a job with customers and making the business grow. Benchener is now moving to Hargreaves Lansdown from Vanguard.

At Hargreaves Lansdown Benchener will take over from Richard Flint. Richard Flint has been the CEO of Hargreaves Lansdown since August 2025.

Hargreaves Lansdown was taken over by some equity investors in March 2025. The takeover was worth £5.4 billion. The investors were led by CVC Capital Partners. They also included Nordic Capital and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.

After the takeover Richard Flint became the CEO of Hargreaves Lansdown. His job was to help Hargreaves Lansdown through the changes that happened after the takeover. Now Benchener will be the CEO of Hargreaves Lansdown. Flint is going to have a job. This is happening because there are some changes, with the leaders. Flint will become the deputy chair of the board when Benchener becomes the person in charge.

Hargreaves Lansdown was started in 1981 by Peter Hargreaves and Stephen Lansdown. They were the first to make it easy for people to invest their money in the UK. Hargreaves Lansdown offers lots of products like ISAs and SIPPs and savings accounts and funds that are managed by people.

They used to be listed on the London Stock Exchange.. Then the company was bought and it is not listed anymore.
