Tufan Erginbilgiç is now one of the important business leaders in the UK industry. Rolls-Royce Holdings plc was having a time before he took over. The company was struggling with not having customers after the pandemic and things were not running smoothly.. Erginbilgiç has an interesting background that brings together engineering and a lot of real world experience. He was born in Turkey. Now he is a citizen of both Britain and Turkey. Erginbilgiç went to Istanbul Technical University where he got a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He also got an MBA and a masters degree in economics. Before he started working at Rolls-Royce Erginbilgiç spent, over twenty years working at BP. At BP he eventually became the CEO of the part of the company that deals with refining, petrochemicals and aviation fuels. After that Erginbilgiç worked with a company called Global Infrastructure Partners, which’s a private equity firm.

From his days at Rolls-Royce Erginbilgiç wanted to make big changes. He was honest, about the problems Rolls-Royce had when he started. He called it a “burning platform” which meant things had to change. Erginbilgiç led Rolls-Royce to make a plan that focused on fixing problems being more efficient setting goals and getting things done quickly. This plan helped Rolls-Royce make money have more cash and the price of Rolls-Royce shares went up a lot.

The results have been really good. Rolls-Royces share price and market value have gone up a lot, than ten times since he started working there. This shows that investors are feeling good about the company again and things are going well. Rolls-Royce has started paying dividends to shareholders and they are making a lot of profit even more than they thought they would. This is a big deal for Rolls-Royce because they were losing a lot of money and having problems making engines, for airplanes.

Erginbilgiç is a person who thinks about the future. He wants Rolls-Royce to do well not now but for a long time. He is working to make sure Rolls-Royce is ready to take advantage of opportunities in defence and advanced propulsion technology. Erginbilgiç has said publicly that he supports the Türkiye-UK Eurofighter collaboration.
